Hike @Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge

July 30, 2022 @ 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM PDT

Free

Location: Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge

Distance: 5 miles

Elevation gain: 10 ft

Park Fees: $5/car/day (more info: https://www.wta.org/go-outside/passes).

We’ll meet at the visitor center at 12 PM, and start hiking around 12:15-12:20 PM. Please let the group know if you’re running late and we’ll wait up in the parking lot.

The park has lots of birds. So many birds in fact that BirdWeb has a page just for this park (https://birdweb.org/birdweb/site/nisqually_national_wildlife_refuge/3). Maps and binoculars are available at visitor center, but if you have your own binoculars, we recommend bringing them along in case they run out at the visitor center. Also, it’s a great park for pictures 📷!

Because the park is way down in Olympia; there’s a parking fee;and because gas cost a fortune 💰these days, carpooling 🚐would be wise for folks traveling from the same areas. We’ll send out an email to everyone who RSVP’d a week or so before the hike so we can coordinate stuff like that.
